As your Resilience Shield Mentor, I am not here to stand on the sidelines and tell you what to do. I am here to walk beside you as you work out where the pressure is coming from, what is taking the greatest toll and what can be strengthened first. I use the Resilience Shield framework because it is practical and built for real life. Developed by Ben Pronk DSC, Dr Dan Pronk and Tim Curtis, it gives us a clear way to look at the different parts of your life and understand where your shield may need attention. I know what stress and overload can do. I have experienced pressure in both military and corporate environments, and I also know what happens when life changes without warning. For more than a decade, I have lived with the ongoing impact of a significant C6 spinal cord injury. I was told I would never walk again. They got that wrong, but the road back was not quick, easy or straightforward. It required patience, honesty, setbacks, adjustment and a willingness to keep rebuilding. That is why resilience is not theory to me. It is lived experience. My role is to help you make sense of what is happening now, identify what needs attention first and build practical steps that fit your life. Not someone else’s life. Yours. I will be straight with you. Sometimes that means saying what you need to hear, rather than what you may want to hear. There is no judgement in that. Only honesty, perspective and a focus on helping you move forward.
